How to fix threads – RECOIL® Insert Installation Tools

1. DRILL to clear out the damaged thread (drill size specified on RECOIL® Thread Repair Kits)

2. CHECK to ensure tap thread matches bolt

3. TAP placed into tap wrench

4. TAP HOLE to the required depth

5. SET TOOL or place on installation tool, positioning the adjustable top so that the insert tang is centred in the tang slot

6. INSTALL by winding insert in with light downward pressure (1/2 a turn from surface)

7. TANG REMOVAL, but do not attempt to twist tang off with tool. Lift tool from tang, tool 90 degrees and tap down sharply.
